Who can apply

You qualify if

  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must reside in a community within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality in the Eastern Cape.
  • You must have successfully completed Matric.
  • You must be registered or accepted at an accredited public tertiary institution in South Africa.
  • You must be enrolled in a National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Finance, or Human Resources.
  • You must have maintained a minimum academic average of 60% for the 2025 academic year.
  • You must meet medical fitness requirements under the Mine Health and Safety Act and company standards.

You do not qualify if

  • Applicants living outside the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality area.
  • Students registered at private colleges or non-accredited tertiary institutions.
  • Applicants with an academic average below 60% in their previous year of study.
