Child Support Grant
Monthly grant paid to the primary caregiver of a child under 18. Means-tested at R60,000/year single or R120,000/year married.
Foster Child Grant
For foster parents with a valid court order placing a child in their care. No means test; the court order is the qualifier.
Care Dependency Grant
For parents or caregivers of children under 18 with severe disabilities requiring full-time home care. Requires SASSA medical assessment.
Disability Grant
For adults 18-59 unable to work for at least 6 months due to a physical or mental disability. Temporary or permanent based on assessment.
Older Person's Grant
The state pension. For citizens 60 and older. Amount rises to R2,420 at age 75. Means-tested at R107,880/year single or R215,760/year married.
Grant in Aid
Top-up for Disability, Older Person's or War Veteran's Grant recipients who need full-time attendance from another person. Not a standalone grant.
Social Relief of Distress (SRD)
Temporary support for adults 18-59 in dire material need with income under R624/month. Applied for online. Monthly means test.
