Obligation

Graduates may be required to take up employment with AMSOL based on company requirements.

Who can apply

You qualify if

  • Applicants must be South African citizens.
  • You need to be currently in matric or already possess a matric certificate.
  • A minimum achievement of 60% or Level 5 is required in English, Mathematics, and Physical Science.
  • You must plan to study towards one of the approved maritime qualifications in 2027.
  • Studies must take place at an accredited university or SAMSA-approved maritime facility.
  • You cannot hold external bursary agreements or funding commitments for 2027.

You do not qualify if

  • Non-South African citizens cannot apply.
  • Students receiving other bursary funding for the 2027 academic year are ineligible.
  • Applicants with under 60% in English, Mathematics, or Physical Science will not qualify.

Documents you need to submit

  • Final Grade 11 report and current Grade 12 results for matriculants
  • National Senior Certificate for completed matriculants
  • Official academic transcript for current tertiary students
  • Proof of tertiary registration for the 2027 academic year
  • Updated curriculum vitae containing reference contacts
  • Personal motivational letter
