About this bursary
Zutari is offering ten bursary awards for students pursuing undergraduate engineering degrees for the 2027 academic year. The funding covers registration and tuition fees, required textbooks, and official campus housing.
The programme aims to support problem solvers who want to shape infrastructure and engineering in Africa. Successful applicants gain entry into Zutari's professional network, receiving personal mentorship and structured peer support throughout their studies.
Recipients must complete compulsory vacation work during university holidays. After graduation, students join the company's graduate intake program with a service obligation matching the number of years funded.
Obligation
Graduates must complete one year of employment at Zutari for every year of bursary funding received.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- You must be currently in matric or already possess a matric certificate.
- You must plan to study or be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering.
- Studies must take place at a recognized public higher education institution in South Africa.
- Matric applicants must hold a minimum overall average of 70%, with at least 70% (Level 7) in both Mathematics and Physical Science.
- First-year university students require a minimum overall academic average of 65%.
- Second and third-year university students must maintain an overall average of at least 70%.
- Preference is given to candidates from designated demographic groups.
You do not qualify if
- Postgraduate students are not eligible for this funding.
- Students enrolled or planning to enroll at private or unaccredited institutions cannot apply.
- Applicants failing to meet the minimum percentage criteria for their study year will be excluded.
