Australian Government Scholarship 2027

About this bursary

The Australian Government offers fully funded Australia Awards Scholarships for international students through its Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. This programme funds tertiary study at participating universities and TAFE institutions across Australia for the 2027 academic year.

The opportunity aims to assist developing nations by building skills in key development sectors. It covers tuition, travel, living costs, and academic orientation so scholars can return home to drive positive change in their local communities.

Recipients must return to their home country for at least two years after completing their qualification and must complete a formal agreement with the Commonwealth of Australia.

What the bursary covers

Full tuition fees paid directly to the tertiary institution

Return economy airfare to Australia at the start and end of studies

Once-off establishment allowance for accommodation and learning materials

Bi-weekly living allowance (CLE) for daily expenses

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for essential medical care

Introductory Academic Program orientation before main studies start

English language training if required prior to enrolment

Fieldwork travel support for eligible Master's and research students

Check that your qualification and participating institution are approved.
3
Prepare your valid English language test results if required.
4
Register an account on the Online Australia Awards Scholarships Information System (OASIS).
5
Complete the online application form and upload all requested documents before the closing date.

Applications close strictly at 14:00 AEST on 30 April 2026.
