About this bursary
The Chiropractic Association of South Africa offers annual funding support to local students enrolled in senior chiropractic qualifications. Selected recipients get financial aid to help complete their tertiary studies at approved South African universities.
This initiative aims to strengthen the country's healthcare capacity by assisting committed individuals pursuing careers in spinal health and manual therapy. CASA works to foster professional growth and raise clinical standards across the nation.
Applicants must hold active student membership with CASA for at least six consecutive months prior to applying. Funding is restricted to students registered at either Durban University of Technology or the University of Johannesburg.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship.
- You must be registered for a recognized chiropractic qualification at Durban University of Technology or the University of Johannesburg.
- Candidates must be enrolled in their fourth, fifth, or sixth year of study.
- You must be an active student member of CASA for a minimum of six consecutive months before submitting your application.
- Your CASA membership account must remain in good standing.
You do not qualify if
- Students in their first, second, or third year of study cannot apply.
- Non-South African citizens are ineligible for this bursary.
- Students enrolled at institutions other than DUT or UJ do not qualify.
Documents you need to submit
- Recent clear photograph of yourself
- Full official academic transcript
- Proof of current university registration
- Reference letter from a head of department or institutional staff member
- Reference letter from a qualified CASA member (excluding current council members)
- One-page biography highlighting career goals and community involvement
- Choice of an interview or a short 15-minute video presentation on 'Why me?' (maximum 1GB zip file)
Upload documents individually in PDF format under 10MB each, using the naming convention DocType_YourName.
How to apply
- 1Ensure your student membership with CASA has been active for at least six months.
- 2Gather all required academic records, reference letters, and personal statements.
- 3Prepare your presentation video if you choose not to do an interview.
- 4Open the official Google Form application link before the closing deadline.
- 5Complete the required questionnaire and attach all requested documents in PDF format.
- 6Submit the online form before 30 September 2026.
Selection decisions are finalized during the November CASA Council meeting and are non-appealable.
