About this bursary
Digby Wells Environmental offers bursaries to South African students pursuing qualifications in environmental, earth, and social sciences. The firm is an established consultancy providing specialist services to mining, energy, and resource development sectors across Africa.
This funding program aims to build skills in the local environmental industry by supporting high-performing individuals. Funding is open to students entering tertiary education as well as candidates pursuing postgraduate research at accredited public institutions.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship.
- Candidates must currently be in Grade 12 or have finished Matric.
- You must plan to study or currently study full-time towards an approved qualification.
- Studies must take place at a recognised South African public university.
- Undergraduate candidates require at least 60% for Mathematics, 60% for English, and an overall Matric average of 65%.
- Postgraduate applicants must hold a minimum tertiary average of 65%.
- Candidates must demonstrate strong academic achievement and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
You do not qualify if
- Part-time students are not eligible.
- Non-South African citizens cannot apply.
- Students attending unaccredited private colleges are excluded.
