About this bursary
The Ernst & Ethel Eriksen Trust provides partial bursaries for postgraduate students across South Africa. Funding is available for Master's and Doctoral degree studies in any field. Grants are capped at R25 000 per year and are paid directly to the university where the student is registered.
Ethel Eriksen established the Trust in 1981 to help deserving university graduates complete advanced degrees. The grant aims to assist students who demonstrate strong academic potential but require financial support to complete their higher qualifications.
Bursaries are granted for one academic year at a time. Funding recipients must reapply each year to be considered for continued support. Applicants must also be capable of paying any remaining study fees that exceed the R25 000 bursary allocation.
