About this bursary

The Fairtree Bursary supports South African students pursuing undergraduate degrees in investment and financial fields. It covers tuition fees, prescribed textbooks, and essential study materials, while also pairing students with mentors during their studies.

Fairtree is an asset management firm based in Cape Town. Through this bursary, the firm aims to help ambitious youth build careers in investment management and corporate finance, with preference given to female applicants and candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Funding is awarded for one academic year at a time and can be renewed annually if academic performance remains strong. Graduates may also receive employment opportunities at Fairtree.

  • Detailed breakdown of all study costs and requested financial support
  • Testimonial letter written by a teacher or lecturer
  • Up-to-date Curriculum Vitae
  • Records of Grade 11 or Matric extracurricular achievements and awards (if applicable)
  • Copies of parents or guardians ID documents
  • Motivational letter detailing why you deserve the bursary
  • Written statement outlining your career aspirations after graduation

Submit clear and certified copies of all listed documentation with your online form.

    Select your chosen study field in Economics, Finance, or Investments.

    Attach all required certified supporting documents.

    Review all submitted details and submit your application before 28 August 2026.

Applications submitted after the closing date will not be evaluated.
