About this bursary
The Globeleq Education Trust Bursary supports female students from the Western Cape who want to study science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at public tertiary institutions.
Created in 2016, the Trust helps young women from historically disadvantaged communities overcome financial obstacles to complete their qualification. The funding covers essential academic and living expenses based on individual need.
Applications are managed through StudyTrust, and funding is strictly reserved for public universities, TVET colleges, and universities of technology. Private institution studies are not covered.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must be South African citizens living in the Western Cape.
- You must be female and currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Preference is given to students completing Matric in 2026.
- You must plan to study full time toward an accredited STEM qualification at a public South African university, university of technology, or TVET college.
- Applicants need to demonstrate clear financial need with limited household resources.
You do not qualify if
- Male applicants.
- Students living outside the Western Cape.
- Students intending to study at private higher education institutions.
Documents you need to submit
- Certified copy of your South African ID document
- Latest Matric results or prelim statement
- Matric certificate if already completed
- Proof of application, acceptance, or registration at a public tertiary institution
- Certified copies of parents or guardians ID documents or death certificates
- Proof of household income including payslips, SASSA grant letters, or an unemployed affidavit
- Proof of residential address in the Western Cape
All document submissions must be clearly legible and certified.
