About this bursary
The Hollywood Foundation offers the Future is Bright bursary programme for students pursuing tertiary qualifications in South Africa. Functioning as the social investment arm of Hollywoodbets, the foundation aims to assist young citizens by funding their higher education and building career paths.
Funding supports full-time studies towards undergraduate certificates, diplomas, degrees, and postgraduate qualifications up to the honours level. Target sectors include information technology, business administration, accounting, marketing, media, and supply chain management.
Recipients must participate in compulsory vacation work for at least half of their academic holiday periods. After graduation, candidates may be selected to join the company's internal graduate scheme for a period equal to the years funded.
Obligation
Graduates may be required to complete service at the company equal to the duration of funding received.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship and be currently in Matric or completed Matric.
- You must intend to study full-time towards an eligible qualification in 2027.
- Your chosen qualification must be registered with the DHET and last for 12 months or longer.
- Matric applicants require at least 65% in mid-year or final results, with a minimum of 65% in each individual subject.
- Current tertiary students must maintain a minimum overall average of 60% in their latest results.
- You cannot hold any other bursary or funding arrangement that requires work service post-graduation.
You do not qualify if
- Master's, PhD, and senior postgraduate research degrees are not funded.
- Studies at TVET colleges are not covered by this bursary.
- Students receiving existing bursaries with service commitments are ineligible.

- Latest tertiary academic transcript (if currently studying)
- Official letter of acceptance or proof of application from your institution
- Detailed module or qualification breakdown from the institution
- Official name and physical address of the tertiary institution
- Proforma invoice detailing registration, tuition, study materials, and residence costs
- Proof of banking details for the tertiary institution
- Proof of address such as an affidavit or municipal bill
- Motivational letter explaining your background and goals (up to 2000 words)
All supporting documentation must be clear copies uploaded alongside your online form.
