Who can apply

You qualify if

  • Applicants must hold South African citizenship and have completed matric.
  • Candidates must be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  • Studies must take place at an accredited South African public higher education institution.
  • An overall minimum academic average of 65% in recent examinations is required.
  • Applicants need to demonstrate a strong past academic record.

You do not qualify if

  • Non-South African citizens are not eligible.
  • Students studying at private higher education institutions do not qualify.
  • Postgraduate students or those in non-IT fields cannot apply.

Documents you need to submit

  • Clear head-and-shoulders photograph
  • Certified copy of South African ID document
  • Matric certificate
  • Full academic transcript including June 2026 exam results or progress report
  • Proof of household income (payslips, affidavits, bank statements, or SASSA grant letters)
  • Death certificates for deceased parents (if applicable)
  • Divorce agreement or affidavit regarding child support (if applicable)
