About this bursary

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship and have completed matric.
- Candidates must be enrolled or enrolling in an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Studies must take place at an accredited South African public higher education institution.
- An overall minimum academic average of 65% in recent examinations is required.
- Applicants need to demonstrate a strong past academic record.
You do not qualify if
- Non-South African citizens are not eligible.
- Students studying at private higher education institutions do not qualify.
- Postgraduate students or those in non-IT fields cannot apply.
Documents you need to submit
- Clear head-and-shoulders photograph
- Certified copy of South African ID document
- Matric certificate
- Full academic transcript including June 2026 exam results or progress report
- Proof of household income (payslips, affidavits, bank statements, or SASSA grant letters)
- Death certificates for deceased parents (if applicable)
- Divorce agreement or affidavit regarding child support (if applicable)
