About this bursary
The Investec Tech Scholarship supports university students completing qualifications in computer science, software engineering, and related technology fields. The funding targets top academic achievers who will be in their second year through to honours level.
Financial criteria are not used when reviewing candidates. Instead, the selection panel focuses on academic excellence, problem-solving capability, and innovative thinking. The scheme is administered on behalf of Investec by StudyTrust.
Recipients receive academic mentorship throughout their studies. They also get access to the Investec Tech Graduate Programme, annual hackathons, and corporate readiness workshops.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- You must hold South African citizenship, with preference given to Employment Equity candidates.
- You must have completed matric and be registered full-time at a recognized South African university.
- You must study towards an approved technology or engineering degree.
- You must be entering your second, third, final, or honours year of study.
- You must maintain a strong academic record across all university modules.
You do not qualify if
- First-year students entering tertiary study for the first time are not eligible.
- Foreign nationals and non-South African citizens will not be considered.
- Students attending unaccredited or private institutions cannot apply.
