About this bursary
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (EDTEA) provides funding support for young residents from KZN entering targeted engineering degrees. Six bursaries are granted each year to cover full university expenses.
This initiative targets disadvantaged youth to build specialist skills in technical fields, particularly supporting the regional infrastructure needs and the development of the Durban Aerotropolis economy.
Funding is awarded for one academic year at a time and is renewed based on passing performance. Studies must be taken at either the University of the Witwatersrand or the University of Pretoria.
