PSSA Bursary 2027

About this bursary

The Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa manages bursary funding through the Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education. This programme assists full-time pharmacy students who are pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications at public South African universities.

Undergraduate funding targets BPharm students entering their second, third, or fourth year of study. Postgraduate support funds Master's and Doctoral candidates focusing on pharmacy-related topics.

Applicants must hold active student membership with the PSSA, which is free to join. Funding is awarded for one year at a time, and previous university debts or first-year studies are not covered.

Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm)

Doctorate in Pharmacy / Pharmacy-related studies

Documents you need to submit

Certified copy of South African identity document
Certified copy of complete tertiary academic record or transcript
Motivational letter written by a pharmacy lecturer
Proof of household income such as payslips, balance sheets, or affidavits signed by financial guardians

Submit certified copies only. Do not send original documents.

How to apply

Register for free student membership on the PSSA website.

Gather all certified supporting documents and your lecturer reference letter.

Open the online application link for your level of study.
4
Fill in all required form fields accurately.
5
Submit your online application before the stated closing date.

Applications submitted past the official deadline will not be considered.
