About this bursary

The Patrick Nndwamato Education Foundation offers funding for South African students who want to study vocational artisan trades. The bursary supports practical skills training delivered through recognised public or private colleges and TVET institutions.

Founded in 2019, the organisation focuses on youth empowerment and poverty reduction across South Africa. By funding practical trade training, the foundation equips young people with hands-on skills needed in high-demand technical sectors.

This bursary only covers college and TVET diploma or certificate courses. Degree programmes at traditional universities are explicitly excluded.

Who can apply

You qualify if

  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must have successfully completed your Matric certificate.
  • You must intend to enrol in an artisan trade programme at a South African college or TVET institution.
  • You must show genuine interest in practical technical work.
  • You must not be a current beneficiary of a PN Foundation bursary.

You do not qualify if

  • Students intending to study at a university are not eligible.
  • Non-South African citizens cannot apply.
  • Existing PN Foundation bursary recipients cannot reapply.

Documents you need to submit

  • Certified copy of South African identity document
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate or latest academic results
  • Official course outline and quotation from your college
  • Proof of residential address not older than three months
  • Motivational letter explaining why you chose your trade
