About this bursary
Sage South Africa offers financial aid for tertiary students through StudyTrust for the 2027 academic year. Funding helps pay for tuition, accommodation, books, and existing student debt up to a set capped amount.
The scheme focuses on previously disadvantaged youth entering tech and finance careers. It supports qualifications in accounting, computer engineering, computer science, and information technology. Applicants with disabilities can receive support for any study program.
Priority is given to disabled applicants. Selection depends on household income requirements, academic results, and admission to a public university.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship.
- You must come from a previously disadvantaged background.
- You need to be currently in matric or have passed matric.
- You must plan to study towards an undergraduate qualification in accounting, finance, computer engineering, computer science, or IT at a public South African university in 2027.
- Matric applicants require a minimum score of 75% in Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Enrolled tertiary students must maintain a minimum 65% overall average.
- Annual household income must sit between R350 000 and R500 000, or below R350 000 if NSFAS was applied for but rejected.
- Students with disabilities qualify across any undergraduate or postgraduate qualification.
You do not qualify if
- Non-South African citizens are ineligible.
- Students enrolling at private or unaccredited institutions cannot apply.
- Matric applicants scoring under 75% in Maths and Science (unless applying under disability rules) will not be considered.
- Applicants with household income under R350 000 who failed to apply for NSFAS do not qualify.
Documents you need to submit
- Recent head-and-shoulders photograph
- Certified copy of South African ID card or document
- Grade 11 final results and June matric results if in school
- Matric certificate if school completed
- Full academic transcript and June 2026 examination results
- Proof of household income using payslips, affidavits, or bank statements
- Parent death certificates if applicable
- Court order or affidavit confirming child support details if applicable
- Medical report or doctor note confirming disability if applicable
