About this bursary

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship.
- You must be currently in matric or have completed Grade 12.
- You must plan to study or be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or honours degree.
- Studies must take place at an accredited South African tertiary institution.
- Candidates need strong academic results and verified financial need.
- Recipients must agree to become SAIBPP student members and perform community service.
You do not qualify if
- Master's and doctoral degree applicants are not eligible.
- Part-time or distance learning students will not be considered.
- Applicants without South African citizenship do not qualify.
Documents you need to submit
- Certified copy of South African identity document
- Grade 11 final results and Grade 12 June results for current matriculants
- Certified copy of National Senior Certificate for completed matriculants
- Latest academic transcript or progress report for current tertiary students
- Proof of household income such as payslips, pension grant slips, or an unemployment affidavit
- Two written testimonials, one from an educator and one from a community leader
- Motivational letter explaining your career goals, limited to 500 words
