About this bursary

Sanlam offers a comprehensive bursary program for students pursuing degrees in actuarial science. The scheme provides full financial assistance for full-time undergraduate studies at accredited South African universities.

Obligation

Recipients enter a service contract and receive guaranteed employment at Sanlam after completing their degree.

Who can apply

You qualify if

  • Applicants must hold South African citizenship.
  • You must either be in Matric during 2026 or currently studying full-time toward an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science.
  • Current first, second, and third-year university students can apply.
  • Matriculants need at least 90% for Mathematics and an overall A average in Grade 11 and Matric mid-year results.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and discipline are essential.
  • Current tertiary students must demonstrate consistent academic results and strong motivation.

You do not qualify if

  • Non-South African citizens are not eligible for this bursary scheme.
  • Students enrolled in non-actuarial degree programmes cannot apply.
  • Part-time students and postgraduate candidates are excluded from consideration.
