About this bursary
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited offers bursary support for students entering undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. The programme targets critical skills needed to plan, build, and manage South Africa's national road network.
Funding options include full and partial packages depending on financial need. Applicants must be South African citizens under the age of 35 studying full-time at accredited public universities across the country.
Disabled students are encouraged to apply. The bursary does not fund studies at private institutions, part-time courses, or distance learning programs.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- You must be a South African citizen under 35 years old.
- For undergraduate study, you need to be in Matric or have finished Matric and be entering your first year in 2027 with a minimum 70 percent overall average.
- For postgraduate study, you must enroll for an NQF Level 8 qualification in 2027 with a minimum 60 percent overall average.
- You must study full-time at an accredited South African public university.
- You must demonstrate financial need and not hold any other bursary funding.
You do not qualify if
- Non-South African citizens and applicants 35 years or older.
- Students studying at private tertiary institutions.
- Students pursuing part-time or distance learning qualifications.
- Applicants receiving funding from another bursary scheme.
Documents you need to submit
- Certified copy of South African ID document or birth certificate
- Certified copy of term 1 and 2 academic results for current Matriculants
- Certified copy of proof of tertiary registration
- One-page motivational letter explaining why you deserve the bursary
- Certified copies of parent or guardian ID documents
- Certified copies of parent or guardian proof of income
- Proof of residence, such as a recent municipal utility bill
Certified copies must not be older than three months.
