About this bursary

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must be South African citizens or permanent residents depending on the specific category.
- Candidates must be current paid-up SASMT members for over two years or students of active members.
- Age restrictions apply to certain funds, requiring candidates to be under 25 years old.
- Applicants must be accepted or registered for a recognized music qualification at an accredited institution or approved teacher.
- Specific awards require a Grade 8 practical music standard or proof of financial need.
You do not qualify if
- Applicants who are not taught by a registered paid-up SASMT member.
- Candidates exceeding the 25-year age limit for specific category awards.
- Non-South African citizens applying for citizen-restricted categories.
