About this bursary
Sasol offers comprehensive bursaries for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in engineering, science, data, and technology disciplines. The funding covers full academic costs along with living expenses and essential study resources.
The programme aims to develop skilled technical talent to support South Africa's energy and chemical sectors. It provides structured support to help students succeed throughout their university years.
Bursary holders may complete vacation work during their studies and could be placed into Sasol's graduate development programmes after completing their degrees, subject to company needs.
Obligation
Graduates are required to fulfill a service contract with Sasol based on operational requirements.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must be South African citizens under 30 years of age.
- Candidates must be in Matric or have completed Matric, planning full-time study in 2027 at a recognized South African university or university of technology.
- University engineering and science applicants need at least 70% in Mathematics and Physical Science, and 60% in English Home or First Additional Language.
- University of Technology candidates require at least 60% in Mathematics, Physical Science, and English.
- Current tertiary students must have achieved a minimum 50% average across all 2025 modules for undergraduate study, or 65% for postgraduate funding.
- Applicants must not have a criminal record.
You do not qualify if
- UNISA students and candidates studying at international universities are not eligible.
- Diploma courses, hybrid degrees, dual degrees, and extended degree programmes are excluded from funding.
- Applicants with a criminal record will not be considered.

- Matric certificate for first-year tertiary students
- Academic transcripts on official letterhead for current university students
- Honours academic transcript on official letterhead for Master's candidates
