About this bursary
Sasol Mining provides complete financial backing for women pursuing undergraduate engineering or geology degrees. Funding pays for full tuition and related academic expenses at public South African universities.
The initiative focuses on female candidates living near the Secunda Complex in Mpumalanga. Sasol created this project to expand educational access and build technical capacity among women in the mining sector.
Candidates must live within roughly 50 kilometres of Secunda. Applicants cannot be older than 25 years when submitting their details.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- You must hold South African citizenship.
- You must be female and 25 years old or younger.
- You must reside within approximately 50km of Secunda in Mpumalanga.
- You must be completing Matric or have passed Matric.
- You must plan to study or currently study an eligible undergraduate BSc or BEng degree at a recognised South African university.
- You must achieve a minimum score of 70% in Mathematics, 70% in Physical Science, and 60% in English in Matric.
You do not qualify if
- Male applicants are not eligible.
- Candidates older than 25 years cannot apply.
- Students residing more than 50km from Secunda do not qualify.
- Postgraduate students or candidates attending private tertiary institutions are excluded.

- Certified copy of Matric certificate if school is completed
- Official tertiary academic record if currently studying
- Proof of university acceptance or registration
- Proof of residential address showing local area residency

- 4Select the South African Bursary Application section in the top menu.

- 7Upload clear copies of all mandatory documents.
- 8Agree to the application disclaimer and submit your form.
