Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must be South African citizens by birth.
- You must be completing Matric or already hold a matriculation certificate.
- You need to study or plan to study full-time towards an undergraduate STEM or automation degree at a public university in South Africa.
- You must enter your first, second, or third year of university during 2027.
- Matric students need June 2026 results showing at least 70% in Mathematics, 70% in Physical Science, and 60% in English.
- Current university students must maintain an overall academic average of at least 65%.
- Demonstrated financial need is compulsory for consideration.
You do not qualify if
- Postgraduate applicants.
- Non-South African citizens or citizens by naturalisation.
- Students registered at private or unaccredited tertiary institutions.
