About this bursary

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must be South African citizens coming from a disadvantaged background.
- Candidates must not hold funding from NSFAS or any other bursary scheme.
- Matric applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old, currently unemployed, and intend to study full-time in 2027.
- Matric candidates require a minimum Level 6 result in English, Pure Mathematics, and Physical Science.
- University candidates must have completed matric and earned an academic average of at least 65% for the 2026 academic year.
- Studies must be undertaken full-time at a recognized, accredited public higher education institution in South Africa.
You do not qualify if
- Students receiving NSFAS or other external bursary funding do not qualify.
- Part-time students or those studying at private institutions are excluded.
- Matric applicants over 25 years old are ineligible.
