About this bursary
African Marine Solutions offers financial support to South African students pursuing maritime qualifications. The company covers basic tuition fees at accredited tertiary institutions or SAMSA approved training facilities.
The scheme aims to build skilled professionals in maritime sectors across Southern Africa. It caters to individuals starting or continuing their tertiary education in specialised navigational and marine engineering roles.
Recipients may be offered work-back employment opportunities after graduation, subject to operational requirements within the company.
Obligation
Graduates may be required to work for African Marine Solutions if operational positions are available.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- Applicants must hold South African citizenship and be currently completing Matric or already finished. Candidates need at least 60% or Level 5 in English, Mathematics, and Physical Science on their final school results. You must plan to register or be registered for an approved maritime qualification for 2027. Studies must take place at a recognised South African university or a SAMSA accredited facility. Candidates cannot hold any existing bursary or funding agreement for the same academic year.
You do not qualify if
- Applicants with existing bursary commitments or external funding for 2027 do not qualify. Students scoring below 60% in English, Mathematics, or Physical Science are ineligible. Non South African citizens cannot apply.

- Proof of tertiary registration for the 2027 academic year
