Who can apply

You qualify if

  • Undergraduate candidates must have completed matric and be entering their second, third, or fourth year of full-time study in 2027.
  • Postgraduate applicants must be registered for full-time qualification up to Master's level in an approved degree field.
  • You must study at an accredited public university located within South Africa.
  • An academic average of at least 65% in your latest examinations is required.
  • Applicants must prove clear financial need to be eligible for selection.

You do not qualify if

  • First-year undergraduate students cannot apply for this bursary.
  • Students registered at private tertiary institutions are excluded.
  • Part-time or distance learning students do not qualify.

  • Full official academic record on university letterhead
  • Proof of household income such as payslips, grant documents, or an unemployment affidavit
