About this bursary
The Support Teacher Empowerment Trust (STET) offers bursaries to female South African students entering teaching or postgraduate studies. The organisation aims to build stronger educational capacity by empowering female educators.
Funding is directed towards candidates pursuing an undergraduate teaching degree through UNISA, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or any postgraduate degree at a South African university.
In addition to financial aid, bursary recipients receive ongoing mentorship, leadership development, and specialized professional training.

Who can apply
You qualify if
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must be female.
- You must be African, Coloured, or Indian.
- You must be currently in matric or have already completed matric.
- You must be enrolled or planning to enroll in a UNISA teaching degree, a PGCE, or a postgraduate degree at a recognised South African university.
- Preference is given to applicants between 18 and 35 years of age.
You do not qualify if
- Male applicants do not qualify.
- Non-South African citizens are ineligible.

- Certified copy of latest academic transcript if currently studying
- Motivational letter supporting your application
