The Tlotlego Smiles Foundation Bursary assists young South Africans pursuing qualifications in engineering and mining fields. The foundation focuses on funding full-time undergraduate students studying at accredited South African public universities or universities of technology.

Who can apply

You qualify if

  • You must be a South African citizen between 18 and 35 years of age.
  • You must currently reside within the John Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) District in the Northern Cape province.
  • You must have completed Matric and meet university entrance standards.
  • You must be enrolled or accepted to study full-time toward an approved engineering or mining qualification at an accredited South African university or university of technology.
  • You must hold a minimum overall academic average of a B symbol across all subjects.
  • You must not be receiving funding from any other bursary, scholarship, or financial aid program.

You do not qualify if

  • Applicants residing outside the John Taolo Gaetsewe (JTG) District.
  • Students receiving other bursaries, NSFAS, or financial assistance.
  • Applicants studying part-time or at non-accredited private institutions.
