About this bursary

Vodacom provides full academic funding for South African students entering undergraduate programmes in technical and business disciplines. The grant covers key educational fees alongside living expenses and personal technology.

Who can apply

You qualify if

  • Applicants must be South African citizens by birth who hold or are completing a matric exemption.
  • Matriculants require at least 70% in all subjects, while existing tertiary students must maintain a 65% academic average.
  • You must plan to study full-time towards an undergraduate degree in an approved field at an accredited South African university.
  • Funding applies to students entering their first, second, or third year of study in 2027.
  • Demonstrated financial need is compulsory for all candidates.

You do not qualify if

  • Non-South African citizens or citizens by naturalisation do not qualify.
  • Postgraduate students and those studying part-time are not eligible.
  • Students attending unaccredited or foreign tertiary institutions cannot apply.

Documents you need to submit

  • Certified copy of South African identity document
  • Grade 11 final results and latest matric report if currently in Grade 12
  • Certified copy of matric certificate if finished high school
  • Official academic record on official tertiary letterhead if currently studying
  • Recent tertiary fee statement on official letterhead
  • Official proof of university acceptance
  • Proof of any current bursary funding held
  • Completed parental consent form for applicants under 18 years
