About this bursary
The Women’s Empowerment Network of South Africa (WENOSA) Postgraduate Scholarship Programme assists female students in clearing debt on study fees. The scheme awards up to R50 000 per student directly to public universities to settle verified tuition balances.
The initiative targets disciplines where women remain underrepresented, including engineering, data science, health, and legal studies. It awards 25 scholarships each year, split between 10 final-year undergraduate students and 15 postgraduate students completing Honours, Master's, or Doctoral degrees.
Recipients are selected based on academic performance, financial need, and demonstrated leadership skills. Successful applicants may be asked to participate in promotional events, alumni activities, or programme evaluation surveys.
