Who can apply

You qualify if

  • You must hold South African citizenship.
  • You must come from an underprivileged background or belong to a historically disadvantaged group.
  • You must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree at an accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
  • You must enter your final year of undergraduate study in the 2027 academic year.
  • Your qualification must fall under one of the approved fields of study.
  • You must maintain a minimum overall average mark of 70% in your latest examinations.

You do not qualify if

  • Students entering first, second, or third year of study.
  • Postgraduate students.
  • Applicants with an overall mark average below 70%.
  • Non-South African citizens.

Documents you need to submit

  • Certified copy of your South African ID document
  • Recent head and shoulders photograph
  • Matric final result statement or certificate
  • Official academic transcript including 2026 Semester 1 results
  • Proof of household income such as recent payslips or unemployed affidavits
